The boy and the bamboo flute

The boy and the bamboo flute

Vietnamese actor Huong Nguyen and Cambodian actor Tevi Fanning act out a scene from the Vietnamese children’s play The boy and the bamboo flute in Wellington in 1999. Featuring mime, masks, a boy, a flute, a princess and an ogre, the play was written by an Australian Vietnamese artist. Many New Zealand Vietnamese migrants have moved to Sydney and Melbourne to take advantage of the links offered by the larger Vietnamese communities there.
