Miles Aylmer Fulton Barnett was physicist at the DSIR in Wellington when this 1929 photograph of the release of a weather balloon at the Meterological Enclosure, Botanic Gardens, was taken. He stands on the left, with the range finder and theodolite used in the observation of the balloon.
