Buller’s albatrosses (also called Buller’s mollymawks) have a grey head with a pale forehead, and are dark above the eyes with a white crescent below. From above, their wings and back are dark grey, and they have broad yellow ridges on the top and underside of the bill. Their average weight is 3 kilograms. The southern subspecies breeds on the Solander Islands (west of Stewart Island) and further south, on the Snares.
