Plume motor spirit

By the early 1900s small single-cylinder engines were increasingly common among coastal fishing vessels. These fishermen pose with cans of Plume Motor Spirit produced by the Vacuum Oil Company. The man on the left is holding a trumpeter, the man on the right a gutted groper.
