Hēnare Kaihau (left) addressing a rally

Inspired by a vision of Māori self-determination, in 1907 Hēnare Kaihau pressed for the reestablishment of a Māori parliament. This photograph, showing Kaihau and an unidentified man (right), is believed to have been taken during that campaign.
