Mt Taranaki from Turuturumōkai pā

Mt Taranaki (Mt Egmont) is a wāhi tapu (reserved ground) to all tribes in the province of Taranaki. Here, it is viewed from the famous Ngāti Tūpaea of Turuturumōkai, where Tītokowaru began his war against European soldiers in 1868.
