Biography: Horomona, Maata

Méliès in New Zealand

American-based French filmmaker Gaston Méliès (centre) visited New Zealand in 1912–13, and Maata Horomona starred in three of the films he made during his stay. He’s pictured here with a group of Māori who appeared in his films.
