Story: King, Michael

Interviewing Sargeson

Frank Sargeson and Michael King seated either side of a small table, talking. Books and papers are piled haphazardly behind Sargeson.

Michael King interviewed the writer Frank Sargeson at the latter’s Takapuna home in 1978. The two remained in touch until Sargeson’s death in 1982, and King subsequently produced a major biography of Sargeson in 1995.
