Tongan MP Anahila Kanongata'a Suisuiki

Since the introduction of the MMP system, the Labour Party has been represented in Parliament by a number of women from Pacific communities, both in electorate seats and from the Labour list. List MP Anahila Kanongata'a Suisuiki was elected to Parliament in 2017. She is shown here at the ‘swearing in’ ceremony at the start of her parliamentary career. She swore her oath of allegiance to the Crown in both English and Tongan.
