Carmen on a condom packet, 2006

This condom packet, featuring a picture of Carmen Rupe, was part of a safe sex campaign for the New Zealand AIDS Foundation in 2006. Carmen was a strong advocate of safe sex, and helped with HIV AIDS awareness education in New Zealand and Australia. Her message inside the packet reads, ‘Carmen attributes safe sex to her 70 years of a long and wonderful life.’
