Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern

Jacinda Ardern (right) is shown here just before she was sworn in as prime minister at Government House on 26 October 2017. Next to her are Governor-General Dame Patsy Reddy and Winston Peters, the soon-to-be deputy prime minister. Ardern was the third woman prime minister of New Zealand, following Jenny Shipley (1997-99) and Helen Clark (1999-2008), and the second youngest person to hold this office.
