Douglas Mews

Douglas Mews (1918–1993), who was born in Newfoundland and migrated to New Zealand in 1969, was a prominent musician and a composer of music with New Zealand themes. As a teacher in the music department at Auckland University, radio broadcaster, and director of music at St Patrick’s Catholic Cathedral in Auckland, he communicated a love of classical and liturgical music to a wide audience.
