Wiremu Pātara Te Tuhi

This photograph of Wiremu Pātara Te Tuhi was taken in the 1880s by Josiah Martin. Pātara Te Tuhi was editor of the Māori-language newspaper Te Hokioi e rere atu na, a Kīngitanga (Māori King movement) publication, in the 1860s – a troubled time for the Waikato people.
