Milan Mrkusich exhibition

In 2009, 60 years after the University of Auckland held Milan Mrkusich's first public exhibition at its School of Architecture, the university again hosted a Mrkusich exhibition at its Gus Fisher Gallery. The paintings shown in this photograph of the exhibition were characteristic of his work – with large blocks of colour, where the play of colour and shape was the major concern. The paintings we can see in the installation are from 1966, 1968, 1974 and 1997.
