Katherine Mansfield at Villa Isola Bella, Menton, 1920

During 1920–21, New Zealand writer Katherine Mansfield spent some of the happiest and most productive months of her life at Villa Isola Bella in Menton, on the French Cote d'Azur. She is seen here on the villa's terrace in 1920. From 1970 the Katherine Mansfield Fellowship has enabled a New Zealand writer to spend at least three months living in Menton, writing in the villa's Katherine Mansfield Memorial Room.
