Barbara Ewing

Actor Barbara Ewing is pictured in the cafe of the British Film Institute in London in the 1970s. Born and educated in Wellington, Ewing travelled on a New Zealand government scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in 1965. At RADA she won the Bancroft Gold Medal for best student. Subsequently she acted in theatre, television and film productions for many years, and then turned to writing as well. Her historical novels have won awards and have been translated into many languages.
