Frangipani perfume, 1998

The lives, dreams and aspirations of Pacific Island women working as cleaners in New Zealand form the subject matter of Frangipani perfume, the first play by Makerita Urale. It was first performed in Wellington in 1992. This photo shows (from left) actor Joy Vaele, director Erolia Ifopo and actor Dianna Fuemana. Frangipani perfume later toured to Canada, Australia and the UK.
