Nelson Provincial Museum's Glass Plate Negative Project

Nelson Provincial Museum's Glass Plate Negative Project

Workers from Nelson Provincial Museum's Glass Plate Negative Project (GPNP), (left to right) Ian McGuire, Megan Wells, Errol Shaw and Anne McEwan, pose with the 50,000th glass plate on 26 June 2012. Nelson Provincial Museum holds over 150,000 glass-plate negatives, including the collection of the local photographers the Tyree brothers. The GPNP, launched in November 2010, relocated the plates from mobile shelving into industry-standard drawers and also digitised them.
