Embossing department, New Zealand Herald, 1906

Most New Zealand newspapers offered general printing services as well as printing their own titles. In this 1906 photo, staff of the New Zealand Herald's embossing department are producing images that will appear in raised relief when printed. The sign on the back wall identifies their department, while displaying examples of their designs.
