Di Lucas began her landscape architecture career at the Ministry of Works and Development in Dunedin in the early 1970s, and set up her own practice in Geraldine in 1979. She has done a lot of work in rural landscape assessment, environmental planning and urban design, and her wide-ranging experience exemplifies how diverse landscape architecture can be. Her practice, Lucas Associates (now based in Christchurch), has won a host of awards for its work.
