Mary Colborne-Veel

Mary Colborne-Veel, standing third from right in this photograph, was a widely published poet who was well-known in Christchurch intellectual circles in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. She was also involved in philanthropic and social reform work, and was a member of the Home Industries Committee, pictured here, one of the organising committees of the 1906–7 New Zealand International Exhibition.
