Landfall is New Zealand's longest-lived and most important literary journal. Begun in 1947 by Charles Brasch, it was still going strongly in the 2000s. Besides short stories and poems, the magazine has always included reviews and some social and political commentary. It has strongly represented the interests of New Zealand's intellectual community.
