Members of the New Zealand Defence Force Māori Cultural Group and Ngāti Rānana (Māori living in London) perform a haka at the conclusion of the opening ceremony for the New Zealand Memorial at Hyde Park Corner in London, in 2006. In the early morning darkness the tops of the standards are illuminated to resemble stars pointing southwards, and six standards are arranged in the shape of the Southern Cross and its two 'pointer' stars.
