New Zealand runner Jack Lovelock meets Prime Minister Michael Joseph Savage. After his triumphant win in the 1,500 metres at the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games, Lovelock was invited back to New Zealand as a guest of the government. He toured the main centres, talking and giving gentle demonstrations of his track style. He also visited his home town of Timaru. However, he turned down offers to remain in New Zealand.
