Foundation members of Sports Medicine New Zealand

Foundation members of Sports Medicine New Zealand (SMNZ) are shown here at the organisation's annual conference in Dunedin, in 2008. Originally called the New Zealand Federation of Sports Medicine, SMNZ was founded in 1963, with the goal of providing standardised treatment for sports injuries, raising awareness and establishing sports medicine training. John Heslop, Ted Nye and Norrie Johnson (from left) were founding members, while Dave Gerrard (right) joined in 1964.
