After emigrating to New Zealand and settling at Motueka, James Deck became a respected patriarch of the Exclusive branch of Plymouth Brethren in New Zealand. With his long white beard and mystical temperament, he looked and acted the part. Deck’s legacy included sacred poems and hymns that are still popular amongst Brethren today.
