Women's artistic gymnastics, 2002

Soaring high above the balance beam, 17-year-old Auckland gymnast Nicki Wells competes in the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, England. Only women compete on the balance beam. In 2003 Wells became New Zealand's all around gymnastics champion. She then moved to the US and joined a leading university gymnastics team.
