All Whites fans celebrate

A crowd photo of a stadium crowd. The crowd are mostly wearing white. Many people have their shirts off and are waving them, along with New Zealand flags.

Wellington's Westpac Stadium was full for the All Whites' final qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, played against Bahrain in November 2009. After the All Whites scored a goal at the end of the first half, their goalkeeper, Mark Paston, saved a penalty, and the team held on to win 1–0.  Here the fans copy a tradition developed by the 'Yellow Fever' fans of the Wellington Phoenix team by removing their T-shirts and waving them in celebration. The All Whites went on to the finals, where they earned three draws. Although they did not qualify for the next round, they finished as the only unbeaten team at the finals.
