Morrie Chandler, motor-sport enthusiast, 2006

Morrie Chandler, a long-time amateur racing car driver, is shown in 2006 in the premises of the Northern Sports Car Club, which he joined in 1960, becoming its president in 1970. In 1973 he joined the executive of MotorSport New Zealand and served as president from 1977 to 1998. In 1996 he was first elected to the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile World Motor Sports Council, where he held several key positions including vice-president responsible for rallies.
