Caravan rally, Mt Maunganui, 2012

Almost 800 motorhomes, housing 1,590 people and 168 pets, crammed Mt Maunganui's Baypark Stadium for the New Zealand Motor Caravan Association's (NZMCA) Easter Rally in 2012. The NZMCA was formed in Hastings in 1956. By 2012, in addition to its national Easter rally, the Association ran some 240 local rallies annually, each attended by an average of about 50 caravans.
