Birthday parties: David Lange turns 41

Members of David Lange's staff help him celebrate his 41st birthday with a cake in 1983. At the time, Lange had been leader of the Labour Party for just six months. The following year, he was to lead Labour to victory in a snap election, becoming New Zealand's youngest prime minister of the 20th century.
