Pillow fight on the Maunganui, 1946

New Zealand servicewomen compete in a pillow fight in front of an appreciative audience on board the Maunganui in 1946. They were among several hundred New Zealand Second World War veterans sailing to Britain to take part in the victory parade in London on 8 June 1946. The New Zealand contingent included veterans from all three services. Among them were women from the Women's Auxiliary Air Force, the Women's Royal Naval Service, the Women's Auxiliary Army Corps and the New Zealand Army Nursing Corps.
