Avianca Bohm, Miss Universe New Zealand contestant, 2012

Avianca Bohm, the Miss Howick contestant at the Miss Universe New Zealand 2012 contest, searches for answers on her smartphone to questions she thought she might be asked. Bohm was crowned Miss Universe New Zealand but not long after her win it transpired that she was not a New Zealand citizen, something the contest's eligibility criteria required. After some discussion, the organisers of the pageant decided that Bohm could keep her title, pending the finalisation of her citizenship application. However, Bohm failed in her bid for citizenship and so lost the title, which was awarded to the runner-up on the night, Talia Bennett.
