Pétanque in Stanley Bay, 2009

Using the correct technique, with her hand on top of the ball, Joan Parley throws the hollow steel pétanque ball during a game with her husband, Charles. They were playing on gravel at the Stanley Bay Bowling Club on the North Shore, Auckland. Pétanque is quite often played at bowling club greens.
