Katie McVean, pictured here on Dunstan Daffodil at the Horse of the Year show in Hastings in 2012, was one of New Zealand's top showjumpers in the early 2000s. She won her third consecutive Olympic Cup title at this event, the first person to achieve this feat. The Olympic Cup was is awarded to the showjumper of the year and was first presented in 1953. McVean competed on a number of other horses, and also won Lady Rider of the Year for 2012 on Dunstan Zimorena at the same show.
