Equestrian activities: A & P show pony event

A & P (agricultural and pastoral) association shows around the country hold equestrian events for horses and ponies. They include riding, conformation (which judges the build and gait of the pony), jumping and in-hand competitions (where the animals are led, not ridden). Here at the 2011 Ashburton show Belinda Field-Dodgson competes on Beechcroft Playboy. The pair were awarded the Supreme Champion Pony at Ashburton that year, and went on to win two titles in the Horse of the Year show in 2012.
