Roger Hurman of Wainuiomata has collected Mickey and Minnie Mouse dolls, posters and related items since his childhood in England. He said that Walt Disney (one of the creators of the cartoon characters) allowed people to escape from the hardships of the Second World War, which he lived through as a child. This is Hurman and his wife, Margaret, with the collection in 1996.
