Old and new

In the 2000s the Imperial Laws Application Act 1988 can be accessed electronically through a database on the Parliamentary Counsel Office website. However, the act looks to New Zealand's legal past: it specifies 53 English statutes which are still applicable in New Zealand. This is a relic of early colonial days, when relevant English statutes were deemed to have effect in New Zealand.
