Waiting for news of the Solomons, 2000

A Solomon Islands family living in New Zealand, Philemon Akao, wife Alice and daughter Agape, wait for news after the coup. Father Akao, who was studying at St John's Theological College, Auckland, thought violence was a real possibility. His fears were shared by the small community of Solomon Islanders in New Zealand. The Auckland-based Solomon Islands Wantok Association was a source of news for many.
