Story: Te Tiriti o Waitangi – the Treaty of Waitangi

Treaty 2U

Treaty 2U

The Treaty 2U travelling interactive exhibition, housed in a specially designed truck, is shown outside the Anglican cathedral in Ōtautahi (Christchurch) in 2006. Treaty 2U – a collaboration between Te Papa Tongarewa (the Museum of New Zealand), Te Rua Mahara o te Kāwanatanga Archives New Zealand and Te Puna Mātauranga o Aotearoa National Library of New Zealand – toured the country several times from 2006. Providing readily accessible information on the origins, meaning and significance of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) is vital to respecting and implementing the treaty in the present day.
