Inland Revenue advisor in the Solomons

New Zealand Inland Revenue advisor Sharron Thurston was one of the non-military personnel assisting reconstruction in Solomon Islands. She is shown here with Joseph Dokekama of the Solomon Islands Inland Revenue Division. Strengthening governmental economic processes, including the collection of revenue and management of expenditure, was an important element in stabilising the country in the aftermath of war.
