Army engineers desalinating water, Christchurch, 2011

New Zealand Army engineers pump sea water from New Brighton beach in Christchurch so it can be desalinated after the 22 February 2011 earthquake. The armed forces are deployed during natural disasters and other emergencies, both in New Zealand and overseas.
