Story: King Country places

Pā Harakeke

Pā Harakeke

Pā Harakeke is an eco-cultural centre run by the Maraeroa C Incorporation, which administers the Māori land on which the centre is located. It contains a native-plant nursery and flax-processing centre. Visitors can plant native trees there to offset carbon emissions, and can learn about the value of harakeke (flax) in traditional Māori communities. This is a group of visitors at the beginning of a planting tour.
