Legislation passed each year by the New Zealand Parliament is contained in the Statutes of New Zealand, copies of which can be found in libraries including the library of the Supreme Court (pictured). One of the main sources of law is legislation (acts of Parliament). The other is common law, which developed from customary practice and judges’ decisions.
