Cabinet meeting, 1996

Cabinet, the prime decision-making body in New Zealand’s government, is shown here meeting in 1996. To the left of Prime Minister Jim Bolger (front, wearing glasses) is Marie Shroff, the secretary of cabinet. This was the first government formed after an MMP (mixed-member proportional) election, and New Zealand First leader Winston Peters is on Bolger’s right.
