Coming home to Masterton, 2001

In 2001 Alan MacDiarmid returned to his old home town, Masterton, as part of a 10-day New Zealand tour. He talked about his birthplace with the current owners of his family’s old house, 2 Wright Street, pictured here. In an address given on the same day in Masterton, MacDiarmid talked about the importance of education and lifelong learning.
