Sargood Bequest (1st of 3)

Sargood Bequest

The Sargood Bequest is a charitable trust which was established by businessman Sir Percy Sargood in 1939, a year before his death. Grants are paid to community groups and individuals working with children and young people and in cultural, sporting, educational and environmental fields. In 2006 the Sargood Bequest granted $100,000 to develop an elite sports centre at Logan Park, Dunedin. Trustee John Blennerhassett is standing outside the old Dunedin Art Gallery building, which now forms part of the Logan Park sports centre.
