Hīkoi to Waitangi

In 1984 the Waitangi Action Committee, the New Zealand Māori Council, the Māori Women's Welfare League, Te Kotahitanga and the Kīngitanga organised a hīkoi (march) to Waitangi to prevent the Waitangi Day celebrations. Here the group pauses on the bridge near the Treaty grounds to say a karakia.
