Anti-abortion protesters outside the Parkview Clinic, 1989

Conflict over abortion continued through the 1980s. The road outside Parkview Clinic in Wellington was the site of frequent protest. Here, seven anti-abortion protestors remain outside Parkview after a clash between those for and against that saw 16 people arrested.
