A group of Otago rugby heads – aged around 20 – pose in front of a Kingswood and a Falcon before leaving Dunedin to drive to Auckland for Otago's Ranfurly Shield challenge in August 1992 (Otago lost 21–16). 'Rugby heads' was a common term in the 1990s. It referred to rugby players or followers – or both. They often wore jeans, leather boots and rugby jerseys, or rugby shorts in warmer weather.
